The Cultural Triangle of Prespes (CTP) is an independent, non-profit local NGO situated on the borders of Albania, fYR of Macedonia and Greece.
Active on a local, cross-border and European level we implement activities in the Youth, NGO and Economic Development sectors.
Aims
* To reduce the effects of rural isolation on the local communities at a cultural, economical and educational level
* To bring together civil society activists and local stakeholders to support them in strengthening their capacity building and networking
* To offer opportunities to children and young people from all over Europe to meet and to realise their possibilities, to develop skills in the fields of arts and new technologies and in taking initiatives
In 2006 six years are completed since the establishment of the Cultural Triangle of Prespes, an independent, local NGO in the North-Western corner of Greece, based on Agios Germanos, one of the biggest villages on the Greek side of Prespa, on the borders with Albania and the FYR of Macedonia.
CTP is focused in actions that strengthen the equal, qualitative development, contribute at the mobilisation of the people of Prespes – concentrating on youth and women – and make the borders a comparative advantage.
CTP creates training opportunities and jobs, organising educational and informative actions and promoting civil society initiatives and collaborations.
Furthermore, CTP implements programmes concerning the research, preservation and utilisation of the cultural heritage, the mobilisation of citizens and institutions and the collaborations between them, as well as the development of an alternative model of tourism in a region rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage.
One of the main concerns and at the same time one of the tools for successful action is the collaboration between Civil Society Organisations, the support, the networking and the coordination of NGO activity.
The cross-border dimension of the CTP activities corresponds to the existing situation and the future prospects. Of particular importance is the activation of CTP for the creation of the Prespa - Ohrid Euroregion and its participation in the relative processes, which are coordinated by the regional and local authorities and are supported by the European Council and the EWI.
The European orientation that is sought with the implementation of programmes in cooperation with organisations and institutions of member states of the European Union underlines the multidimensional character of the effort.
Through constant evaluation and open communication we discover new motives for the extension of our activities and objectives.
